This class will prepare you to become a lifeguard at an American Red Cross aquatic facility. Upon successful completion of this 40 hour course, the student will hold a current CPR for Lifeguards card, a Lifeguard/First Aid card and an AED card.
Class will be held in the classroom, the indoor pool and the outdoor pool. Participants should pick up their lifeguard course book prior to the first day of class. A complete course curriculum and schedule will be distributed on the first day of class.
Class pre-requisites:
Swim 500 yards
Retrieve brick from water (11 feet deep)
Tread water for 5 minutes using hands
Tread water for 2 minutes without using hands
This course is offered several times each summer. Watch for complete course details in the Spring/Summer brochure, distributed in early March. There will also be an additional $35 American Red Cross Certification Fee.
